Tuition covers lodging, food, most equipment and instruction, plus all standard services indicated on this web site, including two meals on arrival and departure day. Three meals on arrival or departure day adds an extra $5 per person.

Canadian rates are set on the day the group books, using the Universal Currency Converter.

Certain of our programs require special equipment or the use of off-site facilities, such as dog sledding or the 1812 Homestead Farm & Museum tour, and thus require a small per-person charge. For homesteading, the most common supplement to a Pok-o-MacCready stay, this fee is $7.

Teacher/Chaperone Tuition

The Pok-o-MacCready Outdoor Education Center staff strongly recommends a chaperone-to-student ratio of no less than one to ten. The Center thus waves all fees for one adult per ten students. The charge for additional chaperones is half the student price, to cover room and board.

Recreational Use

Although Pok-o-MacCready’s primary mission continues to be Outdoor Education, it is now available for non-traditional uses ranging from Outing Club expeditions to family reunions, church retreats, and weddings.

Steps to Book a Group

  1. Contact director Devin Winter by email or phone (518.963.7967) to reserve dates and request a packet.
  2. This will be sent to you so you can peruse our Program Guide and begin to plan which elements of our program you’d like to include during your stay. The Program Guide also contains everything you will need to establish the trip on your end, including the Health Form and Parent Information Pages, as well as the Medical Hot Sheet and Billing and Scheduling Information Form. In a hurry? You can download a Program Guide from our Teacher’s Page.
  3. If you like what you see, you should fill out this form and return it. In response, you will receive an invoice and contract, which you can sign and return with your deposit of 25% of full tuition.
  4. Once the director has received your deposit, he can send a proposed schedule for your trip. As long as there are no conflicts of staff, equipment, or facility availably, you can make switches to produce a final schedule.
  5. Visits in future years will be much easier to plan, as many schools enjoy taking new groups of students on the same activities. Welcome to the Pok-O family!
