Our new wildlife ecology curriculum focuses on resources, with an introduction to the natural cycles that drive ecosystems. It all takes place in a small ring of trees that allows for our final and most popular game: to understand the principles behind evolution, students hide themselves among the surrounding trees, attempting to sneak up on the hopefully eagle-eyed student playing the prey.

Sensory, can be presented at any level: for younger students who might never have considered the five senses, for high-schoolers who can learn about the chemical properties of smell and light, and for anyone in between. Then, students of all ages enjoy the sensory course where they might explore for the first time the world of a sightless person.

Pond Ecology takes place right on Long Pond, and after a brief introduction to the pond and its watershed, students learn the various ways to determine the pond’s water quality. As the final step in this testing process, they attempt to capture invertebrates and determine the pond’s biological integrity.

Especially good for our visitors from urban areas, Astronomy stresses our place in the scope of the universe, then takes students outside to make a model of the solar system and to identify constellations.
