Rock Tower
Students receive a thorough introduction to safety techniques, then learn to climb on our 25 ft. tower, which has an easier wood-block surface, two moderate sides with traditional climbing holds, and a more challenging face made of stone and masonry. Our steel cable and top-rope system ensures a safe climbing experience.

Field Climbs
The Adirondacks has many fine rock-climbing routes, though we find that nearby King Phillip’s Slab fits the needs of most beginner-to-moderate climbers. Our staff will usually set up anchors above routes at various skill levels, and may elect to instruct belaying or rappelling techniques.

Ice-Climbing
A staff favorite and a true mountaineering skill than can only be learned on location, so it’s almost guaranteed to be a unique experience for visitors. Students will learn the fundamentals of climbing ice in a controlled top-roped situation, and then, after becoming familiar with their ice-axes and crampons, they will get to climb on routes of varying degrees of difficulty.
